Resilient people are not defined by their adversity. They move through the pain and grief by moving towards a goal beyond themselves; by believing that the bad times are only a temporary state

Being resilient does not mean that a person doesn’t experience difficulty or distress. In fact, building resilience is likely to involve a considerable amount of emotional distress. However, it is also an important part of growth and change.
