“What other people think about you is none of your business” - While this is so easy to say and repeat, it’s often difficult to put into practice – particularly when we are thinking about being vulnerable and sharing our story. One of the greatest fears people have when considering sharing part of themselves and their history, is what will people think? What if I hurt someone?
When you put yourself out there – with friends, family, your community, even into the larger world around you – and dare to follow your truth, it is a risk. It makes you vulnerable and takes courage.
The reason why “what others think about you is none of your business” is because you are sharing YOUR story, YOUR truth, YOUR journey – that is completely and totally unique to you.
And what is most important is what you think about you. Are you staying true to your own values and beliefs? Are you speaking and sharing what is true for you?
